Highway patrol names troopers, dispatcher of the year

FINDLAY — Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced its 2024 troopers and dispatchers of the year. Trooper Brian Schneck was been selected as Trooper of the Year at the Findlay Post, his second year in a row garnering the recognition. Fellow officers stationed locally chose Schneck based on "leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public," a release from OSHP states. Schneck joined the Highway Patrol in 2017 and has served at the Mansfield Post and Findlay Post since then. He graduated from Tiffin University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Schneck has also won the Safe Driving ribbon, Physical Fitness with excellence ribbon, and Field Training Officer ribbon. Findlay Post's 2024 Dispatcher of the Year is Courtney Barth, a field training officer and Findlay native and Liberty-Benton graduate. Sworn officers and dispatchers chose Barth for the recognition based on "technical job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic work attitude, teamwork, and prompt and courteous response to the public's request for information and assistance," the release states. Barth joined the Highway Patrol in 2012 and has served at the Findlay Dispatch Center since joining the division. She had previously been named Dispatcher of the Year in 2020. Trooper Jeffery Huffman was named 2024 Trooper of the Year by the Bowling Green Post. Huffman, a Fostoria High School graduate originally from Arcadia, earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Bowling Green State University in 2014. He joined the Patrol in October 2016 and has been assigned to the Bowling Green Post throughout his career, where he has been Post Trooper of the Year twice. He has also earned the Ace Award for Excellence in Auto Larceny Enforcement four times and the Criminal Patrol Award six times. In addition, he earned the Colonel Paul A. Pride State Criminal Patrol Award twice.
