FHS hockey edges Perrysburg for fourth win

HOCKEY SYLVANIA -- Findlay got contributions from all over the roster Saturday, as it edged Perrysburg 3-2. Draven Wilson, Jackson Fletchner and Colin Somerville each found the back of the net for the Trojans, who improved to 4-7. Sam Wisher, Somerville and Conner Stearns each added an assist for Findlay. Trojans' goalkeeper Brett Flanagan made 22 saves. Perrysburg fell to 4-8-4. Findlay will travel to the Padua Franciscan Holiday Tournament, starting Friday. UF MEN'S BASKETBALL COLUMBUS – The University of Findlay used a strong start and a solid finish to chalk up a 70-57 win over Ohio Dominican on Saturday in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's basketball game.UF used a 12-2 run to pad a small four-point lead into a 22-6 cushion. The Oilers led 41-28 at the half and held ODU at bay the rest of the way to improve to 8-1 overall and remain unbeaten in GMAC play at 3-0.Will Aljancic led UF with 15 points. Jagger Landers and Jake Bishop had 13 points each for the Oilers, who will host on Tuesday in a non-conference game at Croy Gymnasium. UF WOMEN'S BASKETBALLCOLUMBUS – The University of Findlay women's basketball team used a sizzling 24-3 run over the final 5:45 of the second quarter to turn a 28-24 deficit in to a 48-31 halftime lead in Saturday's 79-53 win over Ohio Dominican.Kate Ellis led UF with 17 points, with nine of that total coming during the Oilers blistering run in the second quarter. Alyssa Ziehler scored 14 points and Allie Stock added 11 for the Oilers, who are 7-3 overall and 2-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference games heading into today's game with Northwood.
