TPD Sgt. retires after 30 years

Tiffin Police Chief Pauly and the rest of the Tiffin Police Department will be sorry to see Sergeant Rob Bour go, but after almost 30 years with the department, Bour is ready for retirement. He says he has big plans to fish in his newfound free time. Bour said he started as a deputy with the Seneca County Sheriff's Office in 1992. "I was just a young kid, who realized that I enjoyed it," Bour said. "... I just enjoy the people and the job... We always say we get into the job to help people and I've been able to do that a lot over the years." He later said he also worked in the villages of Seneca County for a while before ultimately joining the police department in 1994. "Rob has been a mentor, a leader, a friend to everyone in this department," Pauly said. Pauly later told the story of a joke played on Bour. He was the prime suspect following the theft of candy from the chief's candy bowl shortly after Bour had joined the department. Pauly said he had enjoyed the time Bour had spent with the Tiffin Police and hoped he enjoyed his upcoming retirement. Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson later read a proclamation thanking Bour for his years of service and congratulating him on his retirement. Bour's last day is Dec. 28.
