Vanlue looking for new superintendent

VANLUE — Vanlue Local Schools is on the lookout for a new superintendent after Traci Conley handed in her resignation. Conley accepted the position of director of Hardin Community School. She'll also serve as director of Hardin County Emotional Disabilities Units for the Midwest Regional ESC. During her time at Vanlue, she held the positions of teacher, principal and superintendent. Before her departure, Conley was in her 10th year as superintendent. The Hancock County Educational Service Center is working with Vanlue Local Schools in the district's search for a new superintendent. The vacancy was announced Monday and the school hopes to fill the position by March. "The application deadline is Feb. 7. We are looking to interview towards the end of February," said Hancock County ESC Superintendent Jeff Young. "Between the 17th-28th, we will have a couple rounds of interviews and hopefully have a board decision. We will make that announcement in March for an Aug. 1 start date, or sooner, depending on if the person can step in." The interviews will be conducted Feb. 17-21 and Feb. 24-28, hoping to move toward the Aug. 1 start date for the new school leader.
