Stabbing suspect arrested in Findlay

FINDLAY — A Findlay man was arrested under suspicion of stabbing another man and a dead woman was found outside a Lester Avenue residence Wednesday. Findlay police officers responded to a report of a deceased woman outside of 404 Lester Ave. about 11:13 a.m. Upon arriving at the home, police found 76-year-old Kathleen Spiegel, of Findlay, dead on the porch. Officers searched the residence and found 50-year-old Gary Spiegel, also of Findlay, with multiple stab wounds to his head and face, a release from FPD states. He was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and was in stable condition Wednesday evening, the release states. Police suspected 45-year-old David Spiegel, also of Findlay, of the stabbing and located him nearby at 405 Lester Ave. Wednesday. He was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and taken to the Hancock County Justice Center, where he remained Wednesday night. An autopsy has been ordered for Kathleen Spiegel and additional charges could be considered pending the outcome of the investigation, the release states. Police said they don't believe foul play played a part in Kathleen Spiegel's death.
