Fostoria driver pronounced deceased following vehicle crash

FINDLAY — A Fostoria driver was pronounced deceases on the scene of a multi vehicle crash near West Trenton Avenue and the northbound entrance to Interstate 75 Friday night. A release from the Findlay Police Department said Clarance Bethel II, of Fostoria, was pronounced deceased on scene of the 9:35 p.m. accident. Two other drivers were involved in the accident Eric Stuber, 40, of Leipsic, was checked out on scene but not transported; and Kalid Abdulaziz Abukar, 40, of Lancing, Michigan, was transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital serious injuries. The release said a gray 2023 Kia Sorento, driven by Stuber, was stopped facing westbound on West Trenton Avenue in the inside westbound lane waiting for a red traffic light and a white 2007 Ford Focus, driven by Bethel II, was stopped facing westbound in the right turn only lane of West Trenton Avenue to merge onto I-75 when a silver 2024 Nissan Altima, driven at a high rate of speed by Abdulaziz Abukar, northbound on the I-75 northbound exit ramp lost control and continued northbound, striking the left front of the Kia with the Nissan's right front then continued northbound and struck the Ford near the driver's door wedging the Ford and the Nissan under the guardrail. Charges will be given at the conclusion of a currently ongoing investigation. Also assisting at the scene was the Findlay Fire Department, Hancock County Coroners Office and Franks Towing.
