ARLINGTON 63VANLUE 10ARLINGTON– Arlington allowed just one point in the first half, as it easily defeated Vanlue 63-10 in a Division VII sectional final. Jase Vermillion hit four 3-pointers to lead the Red Devils -- who led the Wildcats 21-0 after one and 40-1 at the half --with 18 points. Ayden Cavinee added two 3s, scoring 17 points. Trenton Heacock, Brayden Sterrett, and Hunter Rausch each connected on a 3-pointer as well, as the Red Devils hit nine shots from long range.Landon Saltzman scored seven of the Wildcats' 10. Gerken -- the Blanchard Valley Conference Player of the Year -- posted 33 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. Despite Gerken's performance, the game was extremely close most of the way. The Eagles were up just 29-25 at the break and 41-40 after three quarters. But L-B outscored the Chargers 16-10 over the final eight minutes Tyler Grose finished with 12 points and five rebounds for Liberty-Benton.
