Ohio career ed group promotes Findlay native

FINDLAY — The Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education has announced Findlayite Katherine Hite as its assistant director. Prior to joining Ohio ACTE, Hite served as the partnership coordinator for career readiness education at Ohio's 7th-largest school district, leading initiatives increasing industry collaborations by 129% as well as student enrollment by 70% in three years. Empowering learners, particularly in underrepresented communities, Hite brings an expertise in workforce partnerships, cross-cultural education and program development. Extending beyond K-12 education, she has held roles in higher education, including being a program coordinator and instructor for English language learners at Des Moines Area Community College and at SUNY Geneseo. Ohio ACTE is a leading advocate for career-technical education in Ohio, supporting educators, students, and workforce partnerships for 70 years. The organization plays a role in shaping policies, fostering collaboration between industries and educational institutions, ensuring students are equipped with skills needed for successful careers. Hite serves on the board of directors for Hope House and supports community initiatives focusing on childcare policy and philanthropy. She holds a master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages and a bachelor of arts with a focus on teaching language in society from the University of Findlay. She resides in Findlay with her spouse, Ryan, and their two children.
