Church of the Nazarene FINDLAY — The Twice Blessed Consignment Sale located at Findlay First Church of the Nazarene, 2501 Broad Ave., will be held April 3 from 4-8 p.m.; and April 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Concordia Lutheran FINDLAY — Lenten services are continuing at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1431 Sixth St. The next service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. First Presbyterian FINDLAY — First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., welcomes all to worship at 10 a.m. Sunday. The theme for Lent focuses on the Bread of Life. The Rev. Jessica Commeret will be preaching on Luke 14:7-14 – Bread for Sharing. Following worship, join Mendy and Todd Parker as they share a tradition in their family of making sourdough bread. Attendees will learn hands-on how the bread is made so they can make it at home. Coffee hospitality is available beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor and continuing after the service. Childcare for infants and toddlers begins at 9:45 a.m. All are welcome. The service is available in person or online on Facebook or YouTube. Good Hope Lutheran, Arlington ARLINGTON — The fourth Sunday in Lent will be observed at all three worship services at Good Hope Lutheran Church this weekend. The Rev. Steve Ramsey's message "On Being Prodigal" will be shared at 5 p.m. today and again at 7:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday. Bible passages for these services will be taken from Joshua 5:9-12; Psalm 32; 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; and Luke15:1-32. Organists for this weekend will be Pam McCloud, who will play tonight, and Montgomery Moore on Sunday. During the later Sunday service, the senior choir will present the anthem, "Look to the Rose," with Moore as accompanist. He will also share "Canzona" for the prelude and "Were You There?" for the offertory. At 9 a.m. each Sunday, all are encouraged to attend and invite a friend to Bible study classes from nursery to adults. Refreshments and fellowship are available prior to class time. Various Biblical topics are held for each class. Confirmation classes will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Wednesday Lenten service will begin with supper hosted by the men of the congregation at 5:30 p.m. At 7, worship services are held in the sanctuary. This week's topic is "Constantine the Great, and the Day that Christians Got Lazy." Thursday will mark the final teen breakfast for this school year. Any student in grades 7-12 is welcome to attend the event which features a free hot breakfast served at 7 a.m. followed by devotions. Students will have plenty of time to make it to school. Redeemer Lutheran FINDLAY — Sunday services at Redeemer Lutheran Church begin with Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. followed by the church service at 10:30. Church council meets at noon when meetings are scheduled. The Sunday school group used the workbook that goes with the film, "The Chosen," last week, and the Rev. Bill Geiger's sermon was "Jesus Calls for Repentance." St. Andrew's UM FINDLAY — The Rev. Amy Miller will continue her sermon series, "Everything in Between," on the fourth Sunday of Lent at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. The worship service begins at 9 a.m. and includes scripture, music, prayer, a children's message and a meaningful sermon. St. Marks UM FINDLAY — The Rev. Dan Metzger will give a sermon titled "A Private Conversation" on Sunday, the fourth week of Lent, at St. Marks United Methodist Church. The scripture is John 3:1-9 and 16-19. Starting Point, a new discussion group designed for new members of the church, will meet from 6:30-8 p.m. on Wednesdays. The group is led by Mandy Stevens. St. Marks is preparing several activities for Holy Week. There will be a family fun Easter celebration, a Maundy Thursday service and the annual Good Friday breakfast. The youth group will direct the Good Friday service. Two morning services will be held on Easter Sunday. St. Paul Lutheran, Jenera JENERA — The fourth Sunday in Lent will be observed at both services at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jenera. The Rev. Deb Noll will be speaking about "Happy Are We" at both the 9 a.m. traditional service and the 11:15 contemporary service. Communion will be served at the later service. Sunday school will be held for all ages at 10:15. The monthly community meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with both dine in and take out options available. Refuel for youth will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. A Lenten service will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday with Bible study followed by the weekly soup supper at 6 and worship at 7. A first communion retreat will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on April 5. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, Jenera JENERA — A special midweek Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St. The reading of Jesus' suffering is from Luke 23:1-25. The sermon, based on Psalm 51:7 under the theme "Relying on God's Grace," will be given by the Rev. Kurtis Freimuth from Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler. Hymns will include "Glory Be to Jesus," "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me" and "There is a Fountain." The choir will sing "Ah, Holy Jesus" accompanied by the handbells. A free supper served by the Luther Society will feature sloppy joe sandwiches and macaroni and cheese from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend supper and the service. The early service will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook. Communion will be celebrated at both. All are welcome to One Meal At A Time, the free Sunday breakfast from 10-11 a.m. in the Schutt Center. This time of food and fellowship is hosted by the men's' Sunday school class. To-go meals are available on request. The three ELCA Lutheran churches in Findlay are sharing Wednesday Lenten worship. The service at 7 p.m. Wednesday will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church. A soup supper will be offered at 6 p.m., prior to the service in Luther Hall. All are welcome. A work day is scheduled April 5. Those participating should arrive at 8:30 a.m. and help get the church ready for spring. Adults are invited to game night at 5 p.m. April 13 in Luther Hall. Those attending should bring an appetizer and their favorite game. Registration is underway for vacation Bible school. True North, trusting Jesus in a wild world, will be held at Trinity June 15-18. Bigelow Ave. A spirit-filled worship follows at 10:30. The vision theme for this year is Thrive in 2025. This week also marks the beginning of a new series titled "LENT: A Season to Lament, Repent, and Anticipate." The message will be "Lament: Godly Sorrow." Bible studies for men, women, teens and children are held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Those interested can join at anytime. West Independence FOSTORIA — The sermon, "Counting The Cost," will be presented by the Rev. Ben Wallick at the 9 a.m. Sunday service at West Independence Church. Scripture will be read from Luke 9:23-27. The children's moments will be given by Elaine Nye. The service is also livestreamed on YouTube. Following worship, attendees are welcome to gather for coffee fellowship in the Family Life Center. Sunday school classes begin at 10:15 a.m. and offer a variety of topics for all ages from nursery through adult. The youth will meet from 5–7 p.m. in the Loft for "Can You Fondue?" A Lenten study based on the book, "Resilient," will be offered at 10 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in rooms #9 and #10.
