Van Buren takes two in Florida

DESTIN, Fla. – As it turned out, 13 proved to be a lucky number for the Van Buren baseball team as it continued its Floriday trip.The Black Knights played a pair of teams from Kentucky, and outslugged both, beating Trimble County 13-8 and Henry County 13-5.In Game 1 Thursday, Trimble County scored six runs in the bottom of the first, and led 7-4 after three innings.But the Black Knights rallied. Alex Homan had a double, single, scored three runs and knocked in a pair, and Finn Martin had four RBIs as Van Buren scored in each of the final four innings, tacking on five in the seventh.In the second game, Van Buren scored five runs in the fourth, and three runs each in the sixth and seventh.Will Rampe led the Black Knight attack, collecting three singles, scoring three times and driving in five runs.Brady Lance added four hits, including a double, and an RBI and Diego Rivera had a double, a single and drove in three.
