Hull, Trojans shut down Ashland

FINDLAY 6ASHLAND 0ASHLAND – Cole Hull made his varsity start a memorable one, allowing just one hit and striking out eight in Findlay's 6-0 nonleague baseball win over Ashland on Saturday.A sophomore right-hander, Hull walked just one and faced 21 batters in his six-inning stint on the mound. Landon Echelberry finished up and, for the second straight game, Findlay backed its starting pitcher with errorless defense.Junior shortstop Blade Wendt, batting lead-off, rapped out three base hits, stole two bases, scored one run and drove in another. Reece Stillings was 1-for-1 with three walks, drove in a run and scored once.Off to a 4-0 start, Findlay faces an interesting start to the third week of the 2025 season. In the home-and-home scheduling of the Northern Lakes League, the Trojans will host Anthony Wayne on Tuesday, then turn around and make the trip to Anthony Wayne on Wednesday.
