Findlay tennis keeps rolling, tops Ross

TENNIS FINDLAY 4FREMONT 1FREMONT – Owen Vick at No. 3 singles and Findlay High's No. 2 doubles team of Cohen Perkins and Jon Dornbush chalked up clutch wins on Tuesday to highlight the Trojans 4-1 boys tennis win over Fremont Ross.Vick outlasted Carson Lewis of Fremont Ross 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Perkins and Dornbush went overtime in both sets to beat Chase Culbertson and Logan Wensinger 7-5, 7-6 (10-8) as Findlay ran its undefeated record to 9-0 and improved to 4-0 in Northern Lakes League matches.FHS senior Sam Swisher got the Trojans off to a good start with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Cole Kinsey at No. 1 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Owen Metz and Jonathan Wright beat Zach Bishop and Charlie Kramer 6-4, 6-0.Fremont's win came at No. 2 singles where Jack Swinehart rallied to get past Luke Williams 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.Findlay is at Springfield on Thursday, and heads into a pivotal stretch of matches next week, hosting Toledo St. Francis on Monday, perennial Northern Lakes League power Perrysburg on Tuesday and Elida on Wednesday before an NLL match at Anthony Wayne on April 24.
