Wagner top spender in at-large field

FINDLAY — Bradley Wagner appears to be the top spender so far in a field of five vying for three Republican nominations for at-large seats on Findlay City Council. Wagner spent $4,331 of his own money. Heather Kensinger's campaign was next, reporting $3,248 in expenditures in its filing Thursday with the Hancock County elections board. Also filing reports were the campaigns for L. Reed Needles and Antonia Faisant. Campaigns spending or receiving $1,000 or more were required by law to file a pre-election campaign finance report by Thursday. Wagner has spent $1,435 for signs; $1,292 for postage and mailing of brochures; $675 for billboard ads; $430 for creation of a website, Facebook page and flyer; $137 for brochures; $100 for an ad at the County Republican Party Lincoln-Reagan Dinner; and $96 for zip ties for signs. Kensinger's campaign received $1,650 in contributions. It also has received a $2,500 loan from Kensinger. Top contributors were Tom Lause, $250; Bill Carlin, Peter Gilgen, Phil Kortokrax, $200 each. Donating $100 each were William Woban, Scott and Kathleen Carlin; Beth Treadway of Palm Beach, Florida; Donald Parke, Kerry and Abby Trombley. Other contributors included: Jeffrey Shrader, Carrie Glass, David Glass, Christopher and Mary Elizabeth Hammond, and Charles and Paula Clapper, $50 each. Kensinger's campaign has spent $1,697 for printing; $1,375 for billboard advertising; $77 for a website domain and plan; $40 for supplies. Needles's campaign received $1,200 in cash contributions and spent $1,021. Contributors included: Marshall Finelli, $300; Chase Scarbrough, $250; Dunn's Findlay Cheer Elite & Gymnastics, Valerie Johnson, Judy Mieure, Beth Treadway, of Palm Beach, Florida; and Kerry Trombley, $100 each; Christopher Clay, of Forest; Mary Hammond, Corey Scarbrough, $50 each. The campaign received an in-kind contribution of $42 in campaign buttons from Finelli. Needles' campaign spent $912 for yard signs and $108 for checks for a campaign account. Faisant donated $287 to her campaign. Among the campaign's expenses were $105 for a print ad and $102 for business cards and yard signs.
