Findlay's pitching shuts down Northview

BASEBALL FINDLAY 1NORTHVIEW 0FINDLAY – Findlay pushed across a lone run in the bottom of the first inning and some clutch pitching and solid defense made it stand up in a 1-0 Northern Lakes League win over Sylvania Northview Monday at Woody Curlis Field.Landon Echelberry had a base hit and eventually came around to score on Reece Stillings' RBI single.The Trojans, with just six total hits, would not score another run, but Stillings, Cole Hull and Echelberry made sure Northview did not score any.Stillings started and went the first five innings, allowing five hits but no runs. SOFTBALL FINDLAY 11NAPOLEON 1FINDLAY – Findlay's first five batters were a combined 13-for-19 at the plate with nine doubles and a home run, 10 runs scored and nine driven in in the Trojans 11-1 win over Napoleon in a Northern Lakes League cross-over game at Babcock Field.Laney Oliver led Findlay's barrage. The senior first baseman, who is 10-for-17 with nine RBI over her last five games, lined two doubles and a two-run home run.Freshman centerfielder Davinee Harris drove in five runs with a single and two doubles. Addelynnn Sprang, who set the FHS career home run record a game earlier, had two singles and a double this time. Monika Kerwin (1B, 2B) and Ryan Boes (2-2B, RBI) had two hits each.Annabelle Cooper added a two-run single for the Trojans (12-6, 3-5 NLL), who led 6-1 after just two innings.
