FHS coach, players earn all-NLL honors

Findlay High's Jennifer Abell was named coach of the year and two FHS players received first team honors in the Buckeye Division of the Northern Lakes League all conference boys tennis selections for the 2025 season. Abell guided the Trojans to a 16-5 overall record and a 9-1 mark in NLL matches. Findlay was second only to NLL champion Anthony Wayne in the regular season and league tournament standings. Seniors Sam Swisher and Luke Williams were first-team all-NLL. Both were runners-up in the league tournament, Swisher at No. 1 singles and Williams at No. 2. Owen Vick, who was second at No. 3 singles, was second-team all-NLL. All three FHS players – Swisher and Vick in doubles, Williams in singles – will be competing in the Division I district tournament in Port Clinton on Thursday. In the Division II district tournament starting today in Port Clinton, Ada's Nathan Williams and Bluffton's Branson Hilty will be competing in singles matches, along with the doubles teams of Sam Schomaeker and Brandon Gerding from Ottawa-Glandorf and Grady Coonfare and Isaiah Kohli of Bluffton. The top two singles players and doubles team in Division I and the top four in Division II will advance to the 2025 state tournament May 29-30 at the College of Wooster's Aspen Racquet Club.
