Riverdale's Reiter D-VI player of the year

COLUMBUS – Riverdale's Evan Reiter was named Division VI co-Player of the Year in voting by Ohio high school baseball coaches for their all-state teams for the 2025 season. A senior pitcher/infielder, Reiter had a .581 batting average, scored 31 runs and drove in 13. On the mound, the right-hander post a 5-4 record with a 0.99 earned-run-average and 88 strikeouts in 49-1/3 innings. Several area baseball standouts were second-team all-Ohio in their respective divisions. Liberty-Benton's Connor Hiss, who was 7-0 on the mound with a 1.08 ERA and batted .306 with four home runs and 14 RBI, was second-team as a utility player in Division V. L-B's Cooper Leatherman, a freshman catcher who hit .439 with 31 RBI, received honorable mention recognition. Fostoria's Trenton Smith (.507, 9 RBI) in Division IV and Van Buren's Grady Mason (9-1, 1.10 ERA, 70 ks), Columbus Grove's Kyle Hopkins (.457, 37 stolen bases), Hopewell-Loudon's Cohen Sendelbach (.398, 23 RBI) and Patrick Henry's Mack Heiber (5-1, 1 save, 0.58 ERA) were all second-team picks in Division VI. District softball COLUMBUS – Record-setting power hitter Addelyn Sprang earned first-team honors and three of her Findlay High teammates were second team selections in the Division I all-Northwest District softball awards voted on by coaches following the 2025 season. Sprang was first-team all-district as a catcher. The junior, who also received honorable mention all-state recognition, led the Trojans in batting average (.513), hits (39) and runs scored (34). Based on records dating back to 1993, her eight home runs this season and 15 career homers are both considered school records. Senior first baseman Laney Oliver (.444, 4 HR, 23 RBI), junior pitcher Natalie Steffes (9-4, 4.485 ERA, 77 strikeouts) and sophomore third baseman Monika Kerwin (.434, 4 HR, 19 RBI) were second team all-Northwest District in Division I. Ada's Jenna Bassett was not only first-team all-Northwest District in Division V, but also a first-team all-Ohio pick. The senior pitcher posted a 23-4 record in helping Ada reach the regional finals. Three of her teammates were also recognized, with senior catcher Natilyn McClain and senior outfielder Reese Griffith selected first-team all-district and sophomore infielder Reese Jordan getting second-team honors. Also in Division VI, Riverdale's Addie Farmer, the Blanchard Valley Conference Player of the Year, was first-team all-Northwest District and second-team all-Ohio, and Van Buren's Megan Stall also made first team all-district and was honorable mention all-state. Van Buren's Bailey Lance and Audrey Riegle were second-team all-district, along with Riverdale's Graci Kline. Elmwood and Liberty-Benton, who finished 1-2 in the BVC standings, both had three players earn all-Northwest district honors. Junior outfielder Trinity Sander (.464, 18 RBI) and junior catcher Leah Allison (.382, 27 RBI) were first-team for Elmwood, and freshman infielder Libbie Tyson (.444, 23 RBI) was second team all-district. L-B's selections included first-team pick Kylie Steinman (.482, 4 HR, 31 RBI), a senior outfielder, and second-teamers Alyssa Roberts (.467, 33 RBI) and Hayden Gillig (.388, 22 RBI), both senior infielders. Arcadia's Averie Smarr, a junior outfielder who batted .410 and drove in 18 runs, was first-team all-Northwest District and honorable mention all-Ohio in Division VII. Leipsic's Alexys Hermiller and Hardin Northern freshman Addy Bacon were also first team in Division VII, with North Baltimore's Nevaeh DeWitt and MaKenzey Young, Vanlue's Olivia Secord, McComb's Lily Sebring and Cory-Rawson's Addyson Duffman earning second-team honors. Hopewell-Loudon landed four all-Northwest District players in Division VII, with sophomore infielder Araceli Velasquez on the first team and Sidney Brickner, Anne Marie Berg and Brynn Sendelbach second-team picks.
