Flag City Invitational returns this weekend

Over 450 swimmers representing 16 teams from across the state and beyond will descend on Findlay's Riverside Pool this weekend for the 42nd annual Flag City Invitational Swim Meet.The meet is hosted by the Findlay Family YMCA and its team, the Frogs, will provide a 32-person team to the event, one the bigger long course meets of the summer season.The meet gets under way Friday at 4 p.m. with the distance events. The competition on Saturday and Sunday will be split into two sessions. Swimmers ages 13 and up will compete in the morning sessions (8:30 a.m. start); the second session (1:30 p.m. start) will be for swimmers 12 and under.The event is free and open to the public. FAGA BLUFFTON – Reagan Wenzinger carded the best round of the day, a 79, to win the boys 14-15 age division of the Findlay Area Golf Association tournament held at the Bluffton Golf Club on Tuesday.Wenzinger's 79 gave him a four-stroke win over Andrew Hibbard in that division.Rounds of 81 decided the top two age group winners. Leo Castellaneta beat Jamie Tate in a playoff for the boys 16-18 title after both posted 18-hole scores of 81. An 81 by Addyson Adams gave her a one stroke victory over Brynn Wells in the girls 14-18 standings.Landon Byers (88) was first in the boys 12-13 division, also in a playoff, and Sevi Adams (40) and Trysta Adams (59) took the nine-hole boys 10-11 and girls 10-13 competition.
