Habitat for Humanity to celebrate 25 years

FINDLAY — It's time to celebrate 25 years of building homes in Hancock County. There will be Habitat for Humanity Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Riverside Park, near the volleyball courts. The free, family-friendly event celebrates the spirit of community and Habitat's mission and impact. The event will include a bouncy house, a cookout, yard games, and raffle prizes. "Marking 25 years of service to Findlay and Hancock County is an incredible milestone," Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County Wendy McCormick said in a press release. "Habitat Day is a chance for us to say thank you to the community that has supported our mission and to share how families can get involved — whether by volunteering, donating, or applying to become a Habitat homeowner." The event is presented by WesBanco in partnership with the Findlay YMCA Hancock Park District, the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and Scouting America. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about Habitat's current projects, such as the new neighborhood in the Krystal Ridge Addition, where 20 homes are expected to be built by the end of 2027. Since Habitat for Humanity Findlay/Hancock County completed its first home in 2000, the nonprofit organization has built 64 homes and more than 200 home repair projects.
