Three golfers fire a 77 in Fostoria

FOSTORIA -- Three golfers scored a 77 Thursday in the Findlay Area Golf Association's tournaments at Fostoria Country Club.In the girls 14-18 division, Addyson Adams put up a 77, seven strokes better than runner-up Kristin Combs.In the boys 16-18 division, Nathan Alge and Owen Vick each fired a 77, with Alge winning in a playoff. In the boys 14-15 division, Cody Adelsperger finished first with an 80, six strokes better than Colten Hoerig. In the boys 12-13 division, Corbin Pessell shot an 82 to win.Trysta Adams' 58 gave her the victory in the girls 10-13 division, and Sevi Adams' 43 won the boys 10-11 division. Betancourt got a no-decision after walking one and striking out seven. The Locos took the lead in the top of the eighth, getting both of their runs off Flag City reliever Jacob Sams, who allowed three hits in two innings and took the loss. The Sluggers managed just four hits off three Lima pitchers. Findlay dropped to 0-6 on the season. They will travel to Michigan to begin a three-game weekend series with the Muskegon Clippers today. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
