Riverdale's Farmer, Elmwood's Reynolds pick up top league awards

Elmwood's Emily Reynolds kept coach of the year honors and Riverdale's Addie Farmer kept MVP honors in the family in the Blanchard Valley Conference all-league softball honors for the 2025 season.Reynolds was named BVC Coach of the Year after guiding the Royals to a 10-0 league championship. It was the second straight season she has earned the award as Elmwood has gone 18-0 in BVC softball games since joining the league before the 2023-24 school year.Farmer, a second-team all-Ohio player as a junior, was one of the top pitchers in the league and had a .586 on-base percentage in being named 2025 BVC Player of the Year. Farmer's sister Brenna, who has gone on to a solid career at Ohio University where this season she batted .392 and drove in 45 runs in earning first-team all-Mid-American Conference and third-team all-Great Lakes Region honors, was BVC co-Player of the Year in 2023.Four members of Elmwood's BVC championship lineup were first-team all-BVC: Trinity Sander (.464, 18 RBI), Leah Allison (.382, 27 RBI) and pitchers Allyie Reynolds (7-3, 3.34 ERA; .322, 13 RBI) and Addi Hoffman (5-3, 3.50 ERA; .459, 23 RBI).Liberty-Benton's Kylie Steinman, who batted .482 with four home runs, 31 RBI and 34 runs scored, and Alyssa Roberts, a .467 hitter with six triples and 33 RBI, were also first-team all-league, along with Jenna Bassitt, who posted a 23-4 pitching record in helping Ada reach the regional finals, and Bassitt's teammates Natilyn McClain and Tessa Griffith.Rounding out the 2025 all-BVC first team are Van Buren's Megan Stall and Bailey Lance, Arcadia's Averie Smarr (.410, 18 RBI), Vanlue's Olivia Secord (.514) and Leipsic's Alexys Hermiller.Second-team all-BVC selections included Elmwood's Libbie Tyson (.444, 23 RBI), Liberty-Benton's Hayden Gillig (.388, 22 RBI), Kylie Modd (.395, 35 runs) and Reagan Knapke (.408; 10-6, 2.42 ERA), Arcadia's Addyson McCartney (.215, 2 HR, 16 RBI), McComb's Hannah Sherick and Lily Sebring, Van Buren's Aubrey Riegle, Riverdale's Graci Kline and Ada's Reese Jordan.
