Officials slate town halls

Hancock County commissioners will continue in July to go to area restaurants and other locations to be available for casual town halls with the public. The commissioners started holding the "Town & Country" visits in June as a way to hear people's opinions and concerns and to form connections. "A lot of people don't even know what the county commissioners do or aren't fully aware," said Commissioner Jeffrey Hunker. "If people have questions, hopefully we can answer their questions and clarify some things if needed." Town & Country visits are set for Tuesdays throughout July: • July 1: Commissioner Hunker, at Jac & Do's of Arlington, 635 N. Main St., Arlington, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. • July 8: Commissioner Timothy Bechtol, at Arcadia Lions Community Center, 301 W. Brown Road, Arcadia, 4 to 7 p.m. • July 15: Commissioner Bechtol, at Mount Blanchard Gazebo in Hurricane Park, 310 S. Main St., Mount Blanchard, 4 to 7 p.m. • July 15: Commissioner Hunker, at Culvers, 806 W. Trenton Ave., 5 to 7 p.m. • July 22: Commissioner William Bateson, at Wildcat Café, 300 S. Buffalo St., Vanlue, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. • July 22: Commissioner Bechtol, riding along in a HATS (Hancock Area Transportation Services) vehicle, noon to 4 p.m. • July 22: Commissioner Hunker, at City Barbeque, 15033 Flag City Drive, 4 to 7 p.m. • July 29: Commissioner Hunker, at Tim Hortons, 1200 Tiffin Ave., 9 to 11 a.m. • July 29: Commissioner Bateson, at Scramblers, 516 S. Main St., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. • July 29: Commissioner Bechtol at Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, 427 Tiffin Ave., 4 to 7 p.m.
