Requirements for the job If you are a public servant and you 1) discriminate, 2) can't take well-founded criticism, and 3) practice entrapment multiple times, then you don't belong in a leadership position. Max Mayberry Findlay Thanks, senators I was so relieved to read that the CEO for Blanchard Valley Health System has such a gratefulness for his working relationship with our Senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted. His words, "Their willingness to listen, care, and commit to working with BVHS to protect rural hospitals …" left my heart so warmed and assured. The senators' concern for citizens clearly was shown when they both voted for the "Big Beautiful Bill Act" effectively cutting $880 billion from Medicaid. As CEO Mr. Lewis pointed out, this will definitely affect most nursing homes, coverage for over 40% of children in Ohio and over half of births as well! This doesn't even encompass the impacts on all of healthcare delivery for everyone. Our senators' concerns when voting for this bill showed their support for increasing the national debt to at least $3.3 trillion while lining the pockets of billionaires with their tax cuts for them. The party of fiscal responsibility after all. They "fixed it" by raising the debt ceiling. Their emphasis on their racist and inhumane treatment of immigrants were displayed as well as no one blinked an eye at the ridiculous monies set for border spending and deportation. $45 billion for detention? As we build Alligator Auschwitz-like facilities? $46.5 billion for that wall that wasn't followed through on Trump's first disastrous term? Over a billion dollars allocated for this continued fearmongering of humans that are not white? The disastrous Space Force was introduced during his first term and now we have to pay for the $25 billion ridiculous "Golden Dome Missile defense system" as Senators Moreno and Husted showed their alliances and concerns while voting for this. As we all know, emergency departments cannot turn away patients by law. We all will be paying for these vulnerable populations in one way or another. Thank you, senators, for your concern and support for these measures destroying our safety nets for our fellow Americans. Maybe answer your phones once in a while and represent all in Ohio — not just billionaires! Cathy Weygandt Findlay
