Man shot through legs in Findlay

FINDLAY — A man was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds to both legs Friday in Findlay. At about 11:34 a.m., Findlay police responded to a report of a man shot at Rodeway Inn, 1901 Broad Ave. Police were advised the man had been shot in the leg, and there were conflicting reports indicating a woman had possibly shot the man, a release from FPD states. The man was located at the hotel with gunshot wounds in each leg. First aid was rendered to stop the bleeding and the man was taken by ambulance to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay with non-life-threatening injuries. The release states the man said he thought he had been shot by an unknown suspect who had been stalking him. After investigation, police said available evidence indicates the gunshot was likely an accidental discharge by the victim himself, which traveled through both of his legs. Police seized a vehicle at the scene which they believe contains the firearm used in the incident. The release states police believe there is no threat to the public. Police did not identify the man Friday.
