Fostoria woman dies in Wood County crash

WOOD COUNTY — The Wood County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a Fostoria woman and injured another person. According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at approximately 11:48 a.m. Monday on Ohio 199 near Greensburg Pike. The initial investigation showed a 2023 Kia Rio, driven by Chasity Amber Bingamon, 51, of Fostoria, was traveling northbound on Ohio 199 while a 2023 International LT was driven southbound on Ohio 199 by Brandon Eugene Fracchione, 32, of Maumee. As the vehicles approached a curve, Bingamon failed to negotiate it and crossed over into the southbound lane, striking Fracchione's semi. Bingamon was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Wood County Mortuary. Fracchione was treated and released at the scene. Both vehicles received disabling damage. The Ohio Department of Transportation, Southeast 150 EMS, Wayne Fire Department, Wright's Towing and Frank's Towing assisted at the scene.
