Museum to screen 'A Face in the Crowd' FINDLAY — The Hancock Historical Museum is holding the next installment of its 2025 Classic Movie Night series on Friday with a screening of the critically acclaimed drama "A Face in the Crowd." The 1957 film stars Andy Griffith and Patricia Neal, with Elia Kazan as the director. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the film begins at 7. Admission is free. Popcorn and other refreshments will be available. "A Face in the Crowd" tells the story of a drifter who rises to fame as a media personality, only to reveal a darker side as his power grows. The film is a exploration of celebrity, media influence and public manipulation, and it remains as relevant today as it was in the 1950s. The evening will feature a special introduction by John King, president of the Ray Browne Pop Culture Association at Bowling Green State University, who will provide insight into the film's historical and cultural significance. This year's remaining movie lineup includes: Aug. 16, "The Goonies" (PG, 1985), for the Bill and Gail Miller outdoor movie night; Oct. 24, "Bride of Frankenstein" (PG, 1935); Nov. 21, "Dark Passage" (PG, 1947); and Dec. 19, "It's A Wonderful Life (PG, 1946). All films will be shown at the museum, 422 W. Sandusky St., and are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Donations are accepted. NB library to present free movie NORTH BALTIMORE — The North Baltimore Public Library's next View and Chew free movie, "Paint," will be shown at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Virginia Theater, 119 N. Main St. Owen Wilson portrays Carl Nargle, Vermont's number one public television painter who is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van and fans hanging on his every stroke. Then a younger, better artist steals everything and everyone he loves. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase.
