UF fraternity receives national recognition

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay's chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, Eta Mu, received national recognition during a presentation ceremony at the Initiative Academy in Bloomington, Indiana. One of two social Greek organizations and the only fraternity at UF, Eta Mu received the "Chapter Excellence Award," awarded to a Theta Chi chapter that demonstrates expertise and excellence in the areas of alumni engagement, campus involvement, community service, internal cooperation, member education and safety and social programming. "The Chapter Excellence Award is a great honor for our chapter," UF junior and Eta Mu member Ethan Lantz said. "We're a small chapter, on a small campus, and to receive an honor like this is a testament to the hard work that our active chapter and alumni association have performed." Lantz, who's from Clyde, was also awarded the "Resolute Man" status. The Theta Chi Resolute Man program guides undergraduate members to obtain the most out of the collegiate experience to best prepare members for life after graduation. Lantz is the first Eta Mu member at UF to achieve the "Resolute Man" status. Awards were presented at the Theta Chi Initiative Academy from June 12-15, in Bloomington. Founded in 1856, the Theta Chi Fraternity has maintained its chapter at UF since 1972.
