More traffic concerns I was pleased to read that Findlay is going to investigate traffic problems. However, I was disappointed that the article only spoke about speeding. What about the vehicles that stop in the intersection? I remember losing points on my driver's examination because I stopped across the crosswalk. Apparently that rule doesn't apply anymore. I have witnessed Findlay police and Hancock County Sheriff vehicles stop in the intersection for red lights. I realize Findlay would much prefer no semi-truck traffic downtown. However, I have witnessed too many instances when semis have difficulty turning from southbound on Main Street to West Main Cross, as well as instances of semis attempting to turn from West Main Cross south onto Main Street. It's painful to watch. Both Bowling Green and Carey have left turn traffic stops farther back to permit semis to make the turn. I have also witnessed numerous incidents when drivers attempted to turn right on red only to discover oncoming traffic once they got in the intersection. I remember my father mentioning that if I couldn't see whether there is oncoming traffic until I got in the intersection, then it isn't safe to make the turn. Perhaps these could be added to the city's investigation. James Funk Findlay
