Exit ramp to be closed this week

FINDLAY — The exit ramp from Interstate 75 southbound to County Road 99 will be closed Wednesday and Thursday as part of the upgrade of the Interstate 75-County Road 99 interchange, the state reported. Workers will be building the portion of the new ramp that will connect to I-75, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reported. The entire $31 million upgrade of the Interstate 75-County Road 99 interchange is expected to be completed by July 2026. The new "diverging diamond arrangement" — like the I-475-U.S. 20-Ohio 25 interchange near Levis Commons — will ease traffic flow in the I-75-County Road 99 area. It also will enable more business and residential growth. Long backups of stopped vehicles on the interchange bridge and ramps will be eliminated. In the current situation, vehicles sometimes stack on the I-75 ramps nearly all the way to the through lanes of I-75. The existing interchange carries 56% more traffic than it was designed to handle, ODOT officials said. The diverging diamond configuration will move more traffic through the interchange more efficiently and safely. Its throughput will be 20 to 25% more efficient than a typical interchange, ODOT officials said.
