Findlay mall razing begun; stores exited

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust It's the way the West was won. -- The 5th Dimension, "Ashes to Ashes" &emsp;--- You can't tell when viewing it from Tiffin Avenue, but the main part of Findlay Village Mall is being reduced to rubble. The last of its retailers, like Bath & Body Works and Maurices, have left. It is not known whether they will have new locations in Findlay. All entrances to the main part of the mall appeared either to be closed or had signs forbidding entry on Tuesday. Workers at a retailer near the mall said there were no entrances open to the general public, and no stores left in the main part of the mall. Demolition began recently on the 188,000-square-foot main part of the mall to make room for construction of a $20.3 million, 132,258-square-foot Target store. The new building will be separated from the Dunham's and Michael's stores to the west, leaving room for a 24-foot drive aisle and 44 additional parking spaces on the west side. Though the new building will abut existing building spaces to the east and to the north, it will not be connected to them.
