2024 Record 5-6 (3-5 BVC)Head coach: Nick Inbody, second year (5-6)KEY GAME: Sept. 26, at Liberty-Benton. Arlington beat Liberty-Benton 16-13 in 2022, ending a 20-year losing streak to the Eagles. Since that setback, L-B has won two straight against the Red Devils. Last year's loss was a 28-0 shutout. It was Arlington's only scoreless game of the season, and could be attributed, in part, to the fact the Red Devils were in a bit of a rebuilding mode. Because of heavy graduation losses and a season-ending injury to tight end/defensive lineman Elijah Frysinger, Arlington had just one senior on the field. That meant a lot of underclassmen saw playing time and the Red Devils, from the trenches to the backfield , have a bunch of returning veterans in a big senior class. The Red Devils also enter this Sept. 26 contest coming off a four-game home stand that could generate a wave of momentum heading into this key BVC matchup.INTERESTING FACT: Arlington's 5-6 record last season marked the first time since 2015, when the Devils also finished 5-6, that the program did not post a .500 or better record. Winning five games, though, did continue another streak for the program, which has achieved at least five victories in 28 consecutive years. Last year's 5-6 finish boosted the program's all-time record to 669-299-34, which ties the Red Devils with, ironically Findlay (669-510-35), for 26th place for all-time prep football wins.MAGIC NUMBER: 3,490. Traditionally a strong and efficient offensive team and usually sound defensively as well, Arlington did something last season it may not have ever done before: give up the most yards – 3,490 – of any team in the BVC. The Red Devils were a bit of a bend-but-don-'t-break kind of team.
