Raid yields fentanyl, gun stolen from city resident

FINDLAY — A Lima man was arrested in Findlay after a METRICH Drug Task Force raid of a Rector Avenue house yielded drugs and a stolen gun early Wednesday. The task force, assisted by the Findlay Police Department Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at 332½ Rector Ave. at 5 a.m. Officers found 265 suspected pressed fentanyl pills, two guns and other items indicative of drug trafficking, a release from the task force states. According to Chief of Police James Mathias, one of the guns - a handgun was reported stolen to the Findlay Police Department on July 27, 2025 from a city resident at 157½ Laquineo St.; Case #2025-15940. Jama'ee Curtis, 31, was arrested on Hancock County Sheriff's Office warrants for two felony counts of drug trafficking, and new charges of receiving stolen property, felony 4, and possession of fentanyl, felony 1. Additional charges are expected at the end of the investigation, the release states. The theft case as well as the case related to the search warrant, are both under investigation at this time to determine who stole the handgun, Chief Mathias said. Curtis is incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center.
