Sen. Husted visits Findlay

FINDLAY — U.S. Sen. Jon Husted, R-Ohio, visited a staple treats shop and the local hospital and held a roundtable discussion with business owners in Findlay Tuesday. Husted stopped by Dietsch Brothers Chocolates & Ice Cream to meet with the owners and discuss Congress' budget law. "Small and family-owned businesses like Dietsch Brothers are the backbone of Ohio's economy and part of our state's character. I supported reducing taxes for small-businesses so they can keep growing and thriving in Ohio for generations to come," Husted said in a release from his office. Husted also joined 11 local small business owners and entrepreneurs from Hancock County for a discussion on the challenges small businesses face and how the budget law may affect them. Husted is a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He also met with staff at Blanchard Valley Hospital to visit the facility and discuss how the budget law's rural health care transformation fund is meant to support Ohio's rural hospitals. "Sen. Husted's visit to BVHS shows how devoted he is to understanding the challenges rural health systems face," said Myron Lewis, president and CEO of BVHS, in the release. "I'm deeply appreciative of senators Husted and Moreno, who have each spoken with me one-on-one. Their engagement reflects a true dedication to Ohio's rural communities."
