FHS girls third at Versailles tournament

BRADFORD -- Brynn Wells shot a 95, Lainey Ricker recorded a 98 and Findlay's girls golf team finished third out of 11 teams at the Versailles Lady Tiger Tee Invite at Stillwater Valley Golf Club. The Trojans finished with a 392, one stroke better than Greenville. Fort Loramie (372) won the team title; it was nine strokes better than runner-up St. Marys Memorial. FHS' Claire White recorded a 99, while Josey Weihrauch scored a 100 for the Trojans. Lydia Cleland notched a 106, while Alaina Lenhart registered a 135. VB rolls past Elmwood NORTH BALTIMORE – Van Buren's Addyson Adams continued her torrid start to the season, and the Black Knights eased past Elmwood at Birch Run, 193-221. McComb also played Thursday, but didn't field a full team. Adams shot a medal winning 37, while teammates Lauren Hibbard and Peyton Griffin each fired a 51. Lydia Roeber added a 56 for the Black Knights. The Royals were paced by Libbie Tyson's 51. Lucy Bloom recorded a 54 for Elmwood and Natalie Blake registered a 55. Gracie Hoffman had a 61. McComb's Charlotte Green put up a 78 for the Panthers. SBC RIVER SHOOTOUT UPPER SANDUSKY – Hopewell-Loudon had three of its golfers finish in the top five at Sycamore Hills Thursday, and rolled to a team title in the SBC River Shootout. Aubrey Cline and Brooke Clouse each paced the Chieftains with a 46. Megan Boes tied for fifth with a 47. Old Fort, which was led by Sarah Combs' 45, finished second. BOYS GOLF GENOA BANK TOM PICKEREL INVITATIONAL MAUMEE BAY STATE PARK OREGON -- Perrysburg got a 74 from Sam Korczynski, and all four of its scoring players carded in the 70s Thursday as the Yellow Jackets cruised to the Genoa Bank Tom Pickerel Invitational at Maumee Bay State Park. The Yellow Jackets were 15 strokes better than the next-closest team, Van Buren. The Black Knights scored a 325 for runner-up honors. The competition for second place was much tighter. The Black Knights were paced by lefty Ben Heitkamp, who dazzled with a 72, one stroke behind the tournament medalists, Kalida's Paul Stechschulte and Blake Finneran. Cole Bishop shot a 78 for the Black Knights Thursday, with Jake Schroeder checking in with an 83. Andrew Hibbard had a 92. That put Van Buren one stroke ahead of Kalida in the overall team standings. The Wildcats finished with a 326, 11 strokes better than fourth place (and host school) Genoa. Liberty-Benton placed fifth with a 339. Andrew Tomlinson fired a 79 to lead the Eagles, with Jackson Knepper contributing an 82 and Luke Gerken an 87. Asher Norman put up a 91 for L-B. Wynford outdistanced Colonel Crawford (329) and Old Fort (341) for the team crown. The Stockaders were paced by Grady Eakin's 79, and by Colten Hoerig and Cody Adelsperger, who each shot an 81. Carey, which was led by Chase Mullholand's 80 and Andrew Resendez's 86, finished fourth with a 351.
