DnD comes to the library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is offering the following programs the week of August 10-16, 2025: The Teen Dungeons & Dragons Group, a new program at the library, starts Tuesday, August 12 at 4 p.m. in the Younger Room. Step into a world of fantasy, teamwork, and imagination. Whether you're new to D&D or an experienced adventurer, all players are welcome! We'll guide you through character creation and the rules of the game. All materials are provided, as well as the guidance you need to get started or to continue your journey. Space is limited, and registration is preferred at findlaylibrary.org/events by clicking on the event for the form. Another new teen program, Teen Sewing Group, will meet Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Basic materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own supplies or ongoing projects if they prefer. Whether you're just starting out or have experience, all skill levels are welcome. Come learn new skills, work on creative projects, and connect with fellow teen sewing enthusiasts! On Wednesday at 12 p.m. in the Lindamood Room, pack your lunch and your curiosity—this month, Passport Picnic is headed to Bulgaria! The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library invites you to a monthly lunchtime adventure where each session explores a new country through lively, engaging presentations. Discover the culture, traditions, food, and daily life of people around the world—all without leaving Findlay. Whether you're a world traveler or just love to learn, Passport Picnic offers a fun and fascinating escape during your lunch break! Step into the "Blue Zone" with us on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. The term "Blue Zone" refers to a geographic region on the planet where a high proportion of the people live past their 90's, characterized by a unique combination of lifestyle factors that contribute to longevity and well-being. Come and learn about these factors and how to overcome barriers to living your best life at any age. We will also taste some foods that Blue Zoners might eat. This month, the Bows & Blasters Book Discussion group will talk about Olivie Blake's One For My Enemy. Meet us in the Administration Office at 6 p.m. on Wednesday for an engrossing conversation. Adult Book Bingo will take place on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, community, and the chance to win book prizes. There is no registration but participation is limited to the first 26 people to arrive. Teens in grades 8-12 can sign up for a Teen Tote filled with curated library books and surprise goodies! Once registered, participants will receive an email with a form to fill out details that will help us get to know you, and your reading preferences. An active FHCPL card is required to participate. Totes can be picked up at the Main Library, Arlington, or the Bookmobile. Registration begins on the 15th and ends on the last day of the month, at findlaylibrary.org/events by clicking on the event for the registration form.
