50 North pavilion plans OK'd

FINDLAY — Plans for a new pavilion and chore building at 50 North to replace the existing chore building and shelter were approved Wednesday by Findlay City Planning Commission. The old structures on the western side of the 50 North parcel will be replaced by a 1,080-square-foot pavilion and an 8,700-square-foot chore building. The chore building will have space for truck storage, office space, work space and seasonal storage. Separately, the planning commission recommended that upon annexation to the city, Siferd Plumbing Heating & AC, at 10569 County Road 99, be zoned "General Commercial" by City Council. The panel also recommended that City Council zone single-family homes at 10603 County Road 99, 10673 County Road 99 and 10685 County Road 99 as "Large Lot Residential" upon annexation. Separately, city planners recommended City Council rezone 401 N. Main St. and a sliver of a parcel to the north from "General Commercial" to "Downtown Commercial." 401 N. Main, on the east side of the street, formerly was a fire station. It most recently was the city's sign shop. The commission's zoning recommendations could only be rejected if seven of City Council's 10 members — a supermajority — opposed them.
