UF tennis standout Hadler to lead FHS program

FINDLAY – Emily Hadler may be the new name in the program but the former University of Findlay standout brings an outstanding resume to the position as Findlay High's new girls tennis coach.A three-year starter for UF, Hadler is the school's all-time leader in doubles wins with 72. During the Oilers' 2022-23 season, Hadler and her doubles partner Zuzana Krygier were ranked 20th in the NCAA Division II national standings.A Medina native, Hadler also had 41 career singles wins. She was named a three-time Division II Academic Scholar Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and developed and ran the Adaptive Tennis Clinic where she and her UF teammates conduccted programs that allowed "individuals with disabilities to experience the joys of tennis."Findlay High graduated just three members from last year's team that finished fifth in the Northern Lakes League's Buckeye Division: No.1 singles player and district qualifier Caitlin England, along with Addison Kokensparger and Nevaeh Ruiz.Last year's 26-player roster included a big junior class, and many of those players – now seniors – will form the foundation of Hadler's first team."Nearly all of last season's varsity players are returning, which is helpful for our team chemistry and handling high pressure situations," Hadler said in analyzing the upcoming season.Abi Russell, who played No. 2 singles last season, returns, along with No. 3 singles player Rosalynn Mayle. A junior, Mayle finished the 2024 season strong by placing third in the NLL tournament.Seniors Reese Hagedorn and Willow Wetzel formed Findlay's No. 1 doubles team a year ago and both return. Also back is the No. 2 doubles team of Lauren Tabler, a senior, and junior Aubrey Schroeder.Hadler has additional depth to count on as well in senior Kendall Beall, who saw some varsity action at No. 3 singles in 2024.With a roster even bigger than last year's Hadler also mentioned Sanjana Indupuru, Alexandria Smith, Tailee Phiengthirath and Mary Williams as players to look out for."We have a fantastic group of girls this year, with a strong mix of experienced players and newcomers," Hadler said."With 31 athletes on our roster, the largest in recent years, our key strength is depth.
