NORTHERN 2MCCOMB – McComb overcame a 1-0 deficit and needed overtime to come away with a hard-earned win in a marathon 17-25, 25-23, 25-19, 17-25, 16-14 volleyball match with Hardin Northern.Morgan Kern had 16 kills and 14 digs in McComb's season opener. Brooklyn Wilkin lined 12 kills and three blocks for the Black Knights, while Lydia Ponn dished out 26 assists. Lily Grine recorded seven digs. JV: Van Buren, 2-0 SHAWNEE 3 BLUFFTON 0 LIMA – Lima Shawnee handed Bluffton its second straight loss to start the season, sweeping the Pirates 25-20, 25-20, 25-23. Kendall Stackhouse registered eight kills for Bluffton, while Lainey Grandey registered six. Adelyn Althaus handed out 13 assists for the Pirates; Camryn Fuchey added 12 assists and seven digs. Vanessa Cross came up with 13 digs for Bluffton.
