VOLLEYBALL OLD FORT 3VAN BUREN 2OLD FORT – Old Fort rallied from a 2-1 deficit to knock off Van Buren 22-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 15-12 in a marathon volleyball matchup on Saturday.Selma Brant slammed 26 kills and Brooklyn Wilkin had 20 for Van Buren, which went 17-7 last season and was off to a 4-0 start before falling to Old Fort. Brant also had 27 digs, Wilkin had 20 and Lily Grine had 19. Britttyn Wilkin added four kills and Lydia Ponn had three kills and a team-leading 43 assists.JUNIOR VARSITY: Van Buren, 25-21, 25-15. FR. ROSS 3CAREY 1 FREMONT – Carey and Fremont Ross went toe-to-toe the first two sets before the Little Giant wore down the Blue Devils, 25-12, 20-25, 25-15, 25-8 in a nonleague volleyball match on Saturday.Carey's Rylie Stoops and Emily Brodman were both 19-of-22 spiking with eight kills. Stoops also had nine digs and six assists, with Brodman adding eight digs.Abbi Seager (11-18 spiking) had eight kills, two blocks and 11 digs for the Blue Devils (1-2).JUNIOR VARSITY: Fremont Ross, 25-10, 25-8. MILLER CITY 3BLUFFTON 1BLUFFTON – Miller City took the third and fourth sets to earn a 25-21, 21-25, 25-13, 25-15 volleyball win over Bluffton.Libby Hocanson led Bluffton at the net with 19 kills and two blocks. Kendall Stackhouse added eight kills and Lainey Grandey had six.Vanessa Cross came up with 18 digs and Karlie Lora had 13 digs and four blocks. Camryn Fruchey had 19 assists and nine digs for the Pirates (1-3).Anne Schnipke (2 blocks) had 10 kills, Ava Reichley (11 digs) had eight and Gemma Otto (5 blocks) had added seven as Miller City remained unbeaten at 4-0. Tea Griffith (15 assists) had nine kills and Dailah Preston had eight kills and eight blocks.Alyssa Madison led Ada with 38 totals digs, and Jaylin St. Laurent had 29 assists, ARLINGTON 3CORY-RAWSON 0RAWSON – Arlington held Cory-Rawson under 20 points in all three sets in sweeping the Hornets 25-11, 25-16, 25-17 in Saturday's nonleague volleyball match.Arlington improved to 2-1 heading into today's match with Ottoville. Cory-Rawson slipped to 0-3. N. BALTIMORE 3VANLUE 0NORTH BALTIMORE – North Baltimore started strong and swept Vanlue 25-15, 25-22, 25-22 to earn its first volleyball win in three matches.Adrienne Phillips led Vanlue with eight assists and two ace serves. Candace Saltzman had three kills for the Wildcats (0-4).JUNIOR VASRSITY: North Baltimore, 25-12, 25-14..O-GLANDORF 3MINSTER 1OTTAWA – Ottawa-Glandorf rallied from a set-one loss to beat Minster in a nonleague volleyball match, 22-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-21.Sienna Fry, a first-team all-Ohio outside hitter in 2024 when she helped O-G reach the Division V state semifinals, pounded 19 kills and added nine digs and seven aces serves. Addy Bellman had 33 assists and eight digs fort the Titans (3-2). TINORA 3ELMWOOD 0TINORA – Tatum Creps had 21 kills and Paige Gamby had 14 in powering Tinora to a 25-12, 28-26, 25-12 volleyball win over Elmwood.Ella Schaublin had 40 assists for the 3-1 Rams, who handed Elmwood (0-3) its third straight loss.
