DEFIANCE 3 FINDLAY 2DEFIANCE – The Findlay and Defiance volleyball teams went the distance on Monday, with Defiance finally coming away with a marathon 25-20, 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-10 win over the Trojans.Isabella Rowlinson had 23 kills and Kamryn Frederick had 14 as Defiance posted its first win of the 2025 season.Findlay fell to 1-4 heading into Thursday's Northern Lakes League contest at Anthony Wayne, last year's Division II state runner-up and off to a 5-1 start this season. L-BENTON 3H-LOUDON 0FINDLAY – Liberty-Benton got a straight-set win and Eagles' coach Julie Todd achieved a career milestone in Monday's 26-24, 25-10, 25-18 win over Hopewell-Loudon.Corra Dehart and Sadie Barnes smacked 10 kills each and Elise Brzezinski added seven. Barnes was 18-for-18 serving with two aces and Dehart had two blocks. Maddy Amstutz had 22 digs and Ally Hocanson led L-B with 23 assists.Liberty-Benton improved to 2-1 with the win. It was also win No. 250 for Todd, who guided L-B to state championships in 2019 and 2021.Maddie Holcomb led Hopewell-Loudon (0-4) with 32 digs and Araceli Velasquez had 22. Velasquez also had five kills, Savanna Cook (11 digs) had four and Emery Siebenaller (10 digs) had three. VAN BUREN 3H. NORTHERN 0DOLA – Selma Brant hammered 16 kills and Brooklyn Wilkin had 12 in leading Van Buren to a straight-set 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 volleyball win over Hardin Northern.Brant also had 19 digs, Lily Grine had 14 and Wilkin had 12. Lydia Ponn (3 aces) had five kills, six digs and 27 assists as the Black Knights rebounded from their first loss of the season to improve to 5-1. P-GILBOA 3ALLEN EAST 0LAFAYETTE – Corrin Luginbill pounded 20 kills, Nevaeha Alvarado had six and Claire Osting added five in powering Pandora-Gilboa to a 25-15, 25-9, 26-24 volleyball win over Allen East.Cora Hovest led P-G with 25 assists. Ava Huffman (3 aces) had 14 digs for the Rockets (2-1). ARCADIA 3 HOLGATE 1 ARCADIA – Ryleigh Bostic smashed 15 kills and five aces, and Arcadia pushed through five tough sets against Holgate pick up its first win, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 15-12. It was the first win for Redskins coach Alissa Farmer. "It feels great; these kids have worked so hard since I got here," Farmer told Scanner Media after the win. "I'm excited for them. Ellie Moes registered six kills and served five aces for Arcadia, while teammate Elyse Boes slammed seven kills and Ivy Smith dished out 32 assists. RIVERDALE 3 LTC 0 MOUNT BLANCHARD – Paige Courtad served seven aces, Shayla Newfer lined 10 kills and Riverdale improved to 4-0 on the season with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-19 win over Lima Temple Christian. Courtad also dished out 16 assists for the Falcons, while teammate Leah Miller had six kills and Dylann Thacker added four blocks. OTTOVILLE 3 ARLINGTON 0 ARLINGTON –Arlington was able to stave off a sweep at the hands of Ottoville Monday, but the Big Green shrugged off a loss in the third set to beat the Red Devils 25-14, 25-16, 17-25, 25-20. Mea Alexander paced Arlington with 13 digs, while Callie Hartman smashed 11 kills. Ellie Marquart delivered 23 assists and served five aces for the Red Devils. JV: Arlington 25-14, 25-12.
