L-B defense stellar in shutout of Bath

BOYS SOCCERL-BENTON 4LIMA BATH 0FINDLAY --Liberty-Benton's defense held strong in a 4-0 shutout of Lima Bath Tuesday at home.Goalkeeper Kooper Leatherman finished with a clean sheet, as the Wildcats failed to get a shot on goal. Aiden Hatch scored two goals and assisted on a third for the Eagles, scoring with 13:25 remaining in the first, and then again with 11:33 left. Hatch assisted on Taden Troyer's goal with 23:41 remaining in the opening half. Lincoln Holler scored a goal as well for L-B, with 29:08 to go in the second half. Jario Colina assisted on two goals, dishing on Hatch's first score as well as Holler's in the second half. The Eagles, now sitting at 4-1, travel to Lima Shawnee on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to take on the Indians. BLUFFTON 4S-VILLE 0SPENCERVILLE– Bluffton secured a 4-0 shutout of Spencerville on the road Tuesday.Calvin Derstine paced the Pirates, scoring two goals. Carter Steinmetz and Chase Kelly scored as well. Goalkeepers Emmitt Kidd and Truett Diller combined for a shutout. The Pirates host Wapakoneta on Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. GIRLS SOCCERADA 8CALVARY CHRISTIAN 0BELLEFONTAINE– Three players scored two goals each as Ada dismantled Calvary Christian 8-0 on Tuesday.Avary Acheson led the Bulldogs, scoring two goals and assisting on two more. Alex Gibson and Kenley Poling each notched two goals as well. Rose Baxter ended with one goal and one assist. Maycie Dewese scored once, and Shay Smith and Aubry Jordan each finished with an assist.Goalkeeper Emily Gibson recorded six saves. The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 with the victory, looking ahead to a home contest against Delphos Jefferson on Thursday. Goalkeeper Kynzie Ewing tallied four saves.Spencerville's Grace Fledderjohann scored a goal in the ninth minute. The Pirates host Celina on Saturday at noon.
