NFL JERRELL TRADED TO FALCONS, OGLETREE MAKES COLTSTwo former University of Findlay football players have made it onto NFL teams' initial 53-man rosters, including 2024 sixth-round pick Michael Jerrell. Jerrell, an offensive lineman who was drafted 207th overall by the Seattle Seahawks in 2024, was traded to the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday prior to the NFL's deadline. Jerrell appeared in 10 games and made three starts as a rookie, including his first start in week seven against – as luck would have it – the Atlanta Falcons. Jerrell was one of the motivating stories in the NFL this time last season, surprisingly making the Seahawks' 53-man group as a 7th-rounder out of a Div. II program. Drew Ogletree, an Oiler from 2016 to 2019 before transferring up to Div. I FCS school Youngstown State for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, made the cut as a tight end for the Indianapolis Colts. Ogletree was selected by the Colts with the 192nd pick in 2022, and has now made their roster for the third consecutive season after missing his rookie season due to injury.
