Ada goes 2-0 in tri with HN, Arlington

Volleyball HN TRIDOLA — Ada dropped just one set in two matches and upped its unbeaten record to 6-0 on Saturday with wins over Hardin Northern (25-21, 22-25, 25-15) and Arlington (25-17, 25-16) in a tri-match held at Hardin Northern.Tea Griffith had 12 kills and two blocks, 22 assists, eight digs and six ace serves in the two matches. Brook Andreasen (4 aces) and Dailah Preston (4 blocks) had 11 kills each and Alivia Gibson (25 digs) and Anna Conley (15 digs) both had 10.Alyssa Madison had 39 total digs and Jaylin St. Laurent (4 aces) had 12 digs and 28 assists. Taylor Price- had six digs against Hardin Northern (3-5), and Madison had 14 of her 39 digs against Arlington (3-3). Against Ada, Lainey Thomas had 27 digs and Kendall Frank dished out 24 assists for the Polar Bears. Addy Bacon slammed 13 kills. Arlington took care of Hardin Northern 23-25, 25-22, 27-25. Thomas had 28 digs for the Polar Bears, while Baylie Bacon registered a double-double with 16 digs and 12 kills. Addy Bacon had 11 kills and Lexie Oakley recorded 14 digs. RIVERDALE 3U. SANDUSKY 2UPPER SANDUSKY –Paige Courtad served eight aces and had 19 assists, Shayla Newfer served six assists and smashed eight kills, and Riverdale kept its unbeaten record intact, but needed five sets to do it in outlasting Upper Sandusky 19-25, 25-9, 29-27, 20-25, 15-13 on Saturday.Riverdale upped its record to 5-0; Upper Sandusky slipped to 1-4. Carly Karcher and Leah Miller each had nine kills for the Falcons. Golf SANDUSKY – Three Liberty-Benton golfers shot rounds of 77 or better on Saturday when the Eagles posted a 311 team total to win the Bellevue Invitational at the Wousickett Golf Course.L-B senior Andrew Tomlin fired a 73 and was runner-up in the medalist standings. Juniors Jackson Knepper and Asher Norman both shot 77 and were among the top ten in the medalist standings as well.Luke Gerken's 84 rounded out L-B's team total.Liberty-Benton edged Medina Buckeye (313) by two strokes and Eastwood (315) by four in the 19-team team tournament. Upper Sandusky's Toby Holman shot 77, finishing tied for sixth. He led the Rams to a seventh-place finish. scoring a 333. Levi Shavel recorded an 81 for USHS, while Seth Smith recorded an 84 and Gage Theil scored a 91.
