Trojans roar back to stop Springfield

FINDLAY 3SPRINGFIELD 1FINDLAY – Findlay High's volleyball team dropped Tuesday's first set to Springfield. But the Trojans came roaring back and beat the Blue Devils 22-25, 25-10, 25-12, 25-18 in a Northern Lakes League matchup at the FHS Gymnasium.Davinee Harris, Neela Epps and Lauren Heydinger had strong games at the net. Harris, a sophomore outside hitter, was 34-of-39 spiking with 19 kills, Epps, a junior middle hitter, was 19-of-21 spiking with 12 kills and Heydinger, a senior middle hitter, was 20-of-21 spiking with nine kills and two blocks.Maggie Crates and Delaney Harris set up the front line. Delaney Harris, one of just three seniors on a young FHS roster, was 50-of-52 setting with 28 assists; Crates, a freshman, was 39-of-39 setting with 13 assists.Defensively, Anika Helms led Findlay with 14 digs, Crates had 11 and Stephanie Ragan had eight.Delaney Harris was 29-of-29 serving and led Findlay with six aces. HENRY 2LEIPSIC – Leipsic rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Patrick Henry 25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 25-1, 15-12 in a battle of undefeated volleyball teams on Tuesday.Karmyn Brough dished out a whopping 54 assists to go with nine digs for the Vikings, now 5-0 on the season. Danyasia Danzy ended with 31 kills, three aces, and 16 digs, and Jaelynn Siefer had 28 digs and two aces.Kya Brandt finished with 13 kills and six digs, Sidney Apple recorded 10 kills, three aces, and eight digs, and Morgan Valdez added six kills and two blocks. Kynlie Crossland led Patrick Henry (5-1) with 17 kills, 14 digs, and three aces. Kensey Weber notched 18 assists and 12 digs, Ella Christman had six kills, six blocks, and four digs, and Carys Crossland added five kills, three blocks, two aces, and two digs. ARCADIA 3C-RAWSON 0RAWSON – Ryleigh Bostic and Kate Seem pounded seven kills each in leading Arcadia to a straight set 25-5, 25-17, 25-13 volleyball win over Cory-Rawson.Ellie Moes added six kills and Elyse Boes had five in helping Arcadia notch its second straight win and level off at 2-2 overall. BLUFFTON 3ARLINGTON 1ARLINGTON– After losing the first set, Bluffton won three straight to defeat Arlington 16-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-8 in Tuesday's volleyball match.Kendall Stackhouse (2 aces) pounded 15 kills, Karlie Lora had 14 and Libby Hocanson added nine as Bluffton won its third straight and improved to 4-3. Vanessa Cross (5 aces) led the Pirates with 18 digs, with Lora and Camryn Fruchey coming up with 10 each. Fruchey (4 aces) also had 23 assist and Adelyn Althaus dished out 20 assists.Callie Hartman paced Arlington with 10 kills. Mea Alexander ended with 14 digs, while Allie Setlage had 13. Ellie Marquart added 26 assists. P-GILBOA 3LIMA BATH 0LIMA– Pandora-Gilboa battled for a three-set victory over Lima Bath on the road, winning 25-16, 25-23, 25-20 on Tuesday.Corrin Luginbill had eight kills and three aces. Nevaeha Alvarado finished with seven kills and five aces. Ava Huffman ended with 18 digs, and Cora Hovest added 20 assists. CAREY 3U. SANDUSKY 0CAREY– Carey notched a 3-0 N10 win on Tuesday, defeating Upper Sandusky 25-15, 25-23, 25-18.McKinnley Kessler led the Blue Devils, posting four aces, 11 digs, two blocks, and 25 assists. Rylie Stoops finished with six kills, two aces, and 18 digs. Abbi Seager ended with 11 kills and nine digs.Sophia Kline had five kills and three blocks. Emily Brodman added six kills and seven digs. DANBURY 3H-LOUDON 1BASCOM– Danbury defeated Hopewell-Loudon in four sets, 25-19, 16-25, 25-17, 25-19.Savanna Cook led the Chieftains with six kills, nine digs, four aces, and 10 assists. Araceli Velasquez had 11 kills, 11 digs, and three blocks. Emery Siebenaller added six kills and eight blocks. STRITCH 3VANLUE 0VANLUE– Cardinal Stritch made quick work of Vanlue on Tuesday as the 5-1 Cardinals defeated the Wildcats 25-9, 25-14, 25-8. Vanlue, now 0-5, will host the Crestline Bulldogs today at 5:30 p.m.
