Findlay's Gutman has runner-up finish in Attica

ATTICA – Findlay's Natalie Gutman raced to a runner up finish in the Girls Star race at Saturday night's Stars, Stripes & Lights meet at Seneca East High School in Attica.Gutman ran in 18:57.24. Only Watterson's Kaitlyn Van Zandt, who ran in 18:35.89, was better.The Trojans (135) finished fourth in the team standings. Watterson (24), which had six runners in the top 10, won the team title.The Trojans' Abanna Dotson placed 23rd in the race for the Trojans, running in 20:23.32. Her teammate, Kayla Moyer, was 35th in 21:05.78.Findlay's Camden Stechschulte ran fourth in the Boys Stars race, finishing in 16:33.61. That was one spot ahead of teammate Russell Stine, who was exactly three seconds behind Stechschulte.Those finishes helped the Findlay boys to a fourth-place finish in the team standings, with 93 points. Watterson won the team title with 36 points.Lucas Parnell (17:00.97) placed 16th for the Trojans, while Tyley Strabley (17:13.57) took 20th.In the boys "Lights" division at Attica, the top area runner was Riverdale's Kolten Evans, who finished third in 16:06.52. Evans was the only area runner to finish in the top 20. Hopewell-Loudon's Ian Bloom (16:51.41) crossed the finish line 21st.Riverdale was 15th in the team standings; Carey was 16th.The Blue Devils' Riley Miller (18:24.66) was the team's top placer.In the girls' "Lights" division, Riverdale's Gwen Bucher (20:51.87) was the area's top finisher, placing 12th. Carey finished with a pair of runners in the top 25. Elysa Holsinger ran 20th in 21:19.86, while Emma Ritter was 22nd in 21:25.91 Carey's Ellianna Arnold was 26th in 21:51.16.Hopewell-Loudon's Kara Wyman finished 30th in 22:01.3.In the boys "Stripes" division, Elmwood's Henry Good was the top area finisher, placing 12th (16:59.85). Upper Sandusky placed three boys in the top 30, led by Franklin Arnold (17:17.02), who finished 26th.In the girls "Stripes" division, the Upper Sandusky girls bunched two finishers in the top 15, and had three more runners in the 50. That led the Rams to second place finish in the team standings.Jocelyn Leighty was Upper Sandusky's top placer. She took 10th, running in 20:14.49. Another Ram, Abigail Ault, finished 15th in 20:37.38. TIFFIN CARNIVALTIFFIN – Aiden Lee was the area's top finisher in the boys II-A race at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival, running in 16:08.7 and finishing 12th.L-B's boys were sixth in the overall boys standings.Ottawa-Glandorf also was part of the race; the Titans's Cooper Fischer ran 19th (16:30.1).The Eagles' Bryce Hans was 31st in the race (16.47.9) and Cohen Levenhagen ran 39th (16:52.8).Maci Maag finished 28th in the girls Division II-A race, finishing in 19:52.2, and Ottawa-Glandorf finished fifth in the team standings at the Tiffin Carnival at Hedges-Boyer Park.Liberty-Benton's Josie Kern was Liberty-Benton's top finisher in the race, placing 48th in 20:37.6.Claire McDaniel finished 64th (21:10), for the Eagles.L-B's girls were 18th in the team standings.
