Findlay fourth at Trojan Invitational

BOYS GOLF TROJAN INVITATIONALFINDLAY – Findlay bunched its scores well, posted a 325 team total and placed fourth on Saturday in the Findlay Trojan Invitational played at the Findlay Country Club.Owen Vick fired a 79, Leo Castellaneta an 80 and Jamie Tate an 81 to lead Findlay. Jacob Meier's 85 completed the Trojans' 325 total, with Reece Stillings (85) rounding out the lineup. GIRLS GOLF ARCHBOLD INV.WAUSEON – Van Buren's girls golf team placed fourth and Findlay seventh in the Lady Blue Streaks Invitational held at the Ironwood Golf Course on Saturday.Anthony Wayne won the event with a 331 team total. Archbold was second (364) and Wauseon third (367) in the 15-schoool meet.Addyson Adams carded a 79 to lead Van Buren, place sixth in the medalist standings and make the all-tournament team. Lauren Hibbard (91), Peyton Griffin (98) and Jordan Patton (102) rounded out the Black Knights scoring.Lainey Ricker (92), Brynn Wells (94) and Josey Weihrauch (95) led Findlay, with Claire White (100) completing the Trojans' 381 total. TENNIS FINDLAY 3 TOL. CENTRAL CATHOLIC TOLEDO -- For Findlay to pick up a victory at Toledo Central Catholic, it needed second singles player Tailee Phiengthirath to come through. The match was tied, with each team winning two of the matches. Phiengthirath and the Irish's Demi Moody split the first two sets. Phiengthirath won the first one 6-3; Moody countered with a 7-5 victory. That put everything on the third set, and early, it didn't look promising for Findlay. Moody grabbed a 4-1 lead, but Phiengthirath rallied to win the set, 7-6. FHS took the match 3-2 to improve to 6-6. The Trojans' other wins came from third singles player Josylin Hunt, and the doubles team of Alex Smith and Mary Williams. Toledo Central Catholic's Lauren Bishop stopped Findlay's Rosalynn Mayle, 6-0, 6-1. Findlay's first doubles team of Adeline Collins and Bella Woltz also were defeated by its Central Catholic counterpart. The Trojans will have a home match Monday against Northview BUCYRUS TOURNAMENTBUCYRUS – Upper Sandusky's second doubles team of Abigail Gottfried and Ardyn North won two of their three matches and placed second in their division at the Bucyrus Jim Grandy Doubles Tournament on Saturday.After 8-5 and 8-6 in in the first two rounds, Gottfried and Ellis fell 8-2 to Ontario's Alaina Friend and Sophie Ellis in the final.
