Owens sees largest fall enrollment since 2019

FINDLAY — Owens Community College is celebrating its fourth consecutive fall increase in total student headcount with 7,423 students enrolled for Fall 2025, a 3.7% increase from last year's total headcount of 7,155. The growth also marks the fifth consecutive semester of overall enrollment growth and the college's largest fall headcount since 2019, when 8,282 students enrolled. "Our Fall 2025 total enrollment shows the Owens mission in action. We are meeting the needs of all learners at every stage of their journey," vice president of enrollment management and student affairs Blake Renner said in a release from the college. "Students are choosing Owens because of the support, flexibility and value we provide." A key factor behind this growth is the continued increase in new student enrollment. Owens welcomed 1,951 new students this fall, a 16.9% increase from Fall 2024's 1,669 new students. For the 2024-25 academic year, the college enrolled a total of 2,702 new students, a 24.4% increase from last year's 2,172. Over the past decade, nearly 10,000 Owens students have transferred and earned bachelor's degrees. "Our role in the higher education ecosystem is essential," Renner said in the release. "We provide students with a high-quality, affordable start and they go on to earn four-year degrees with less debt, more confidence and a clear sense of direction." Renner also added that enrollment growth reflects the targeted efforts by the college, including re-engaging former students, expanding College Credit Plus partnerships and providing a fully integrated student support model. Enrollment totals are based on Owens official 14th-day census, conducted on Sept. 8.
