Wells medals as Trojans knock off Napoleon

GIRLS GOLF FINDLAY – Brynn Wells fired a medal winning 47 at Findlay Country Club, and the Trojans eased past Napoleon Thursday, 205-243. Lainey Ricker notched a 49 for Findlay, while Lydia Cleland put up a 53, Josey Weihrauch a 56 and Claire White a 57. The Trojans improved to 5-2 in dual matches. Their next competition will be at the Northern Lakes League Championships at Riverby Golf Club Monday. TENNIS NAPOLEON – Abi Russell fought off two match points against Napoleon's Lillie Marr, defeated her in three sets, and helped Findlay knock off the Wildcats, 5-0. Russell topped Marr, 1-6, 7-4, (6) 10-5, and the Trojans improved to 7-7, and 4-6 in the NLL. At second singles, FHS' Kendall Beall stopped Napoleon's Lilly Walker, 6-0, 6-0, and the Trojans' Rosalynn Mayle knocked off Leid Wardinski, 6-3, 6-2. In doubles play, Findlay's Aubrey Schroeder and Willow Wetzel defeated Calista Bost and Erin Damman, 6-1, 6-2. At second doubles, the Trojans duo of Maggie Bramel and Annabelle Barger upended Napoleon's Natalie Bascom and Brooke Hershberger, 6-0, 6-1. Findlay will host Fremont Ross Tuesday. VOLLEYBALL SYLVANIA – Davinee Harris and Maggie Crates each had a double-double, and Findlay shrugged off a Set 2 loss to defeat Southview, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19. Harris lined 18 kills and came up with 13 digs for the Trojans, while Maggie Crates recorded 16 digs and 18 assists to go with six kills. Kelsey Ferguson registered three aces and 10 digs for Findlay, while Delaney Harris dished out 17 assists. Lauren Heydinger smashed nine kills, while Addy Rood downed six kills.
