Hazleton's late rushing TD lifts Leipsic over Rockets

LEIPSIC 12P-GILBOA 7PANDORA– Leipsic's late-game score helped it to a 12-7 close victory over Pandora-Gilboa on Friday.Running back Aaron Hazleton drove in a goaline run with 3:39 remaining to put the Vikings over the hump for the victory. Pandora-Gilboa had grabbed a 7-6 lead when tailback Ben Burkholder scored on a 5-yard dash with 3:57 left in the second quarter. The score stayed that way until the fourth quarter.Avery Paris led Leipsic with four receptions and 190 yards, scoring the Vikings' other TD. Marc Kirkendall passed for 262 yards, connecting on nine of his 17 attempts. Marquise Williams caught two passes for 62 yards, and added 27 more on the ground.P-G's Corey Gerten went 15-of-27 for 149 yards through the air. Chase Meyer caught eight throws for 115 yards. Ben Burkholder had 28 carries for 106 yards.Leipsic improved to 4-0 with the win, and will host Arcadia on Friday. The 2-2 Rockets travel to Arlington to take on the Red Devils. ADA 50ELMWOOD 20ADA– Blake Zoladz had a huge game for Ada as it defeated BVC foe Elmwood 50-20 on Friday.Zoladz completed 13 of his 17 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for three more touchdowns, rushing for 91 yards on 14 carries. Gavin Oldfield caught three passes for 67 yards and a score. Kayleb Hickman finished with 41 yards receiving and one TD, whileTJ Griffith had 24 and a score through the air. Kolton Dysert had eight carries for 31 yards and a touchdown. Elmwood's Marcus Mossbarger ran the ball 20 times, scoring two touchdowns and accumulating 148 yards, and caught a touchdown pass as well, with six total receptions for 54 yards. Quarterback Braxton Simon threw for 94 yards and a score. Luke Carr added three receptions for 76 yards. The 3-1 Bulldogs travel to McComb next Friday, while the Royals (0-4) host Liberty-Benton. L-BENTON 51RIVERDALE 0MOUNT BLANCHARD – Connor Barbara was effective and efficient throwing the football, and Liberty-Benton used a 30-point opening quarter to decimate Riverdale 51-0 at home.Barbara connected on 12 of his 16 passes, throwing for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Seth Elchert finished with four catches for 101 yards, recording two touchdowns. Riley Van Wormer added three catches for 45 yards and a TD.Nathan Price went 8-of-9 on passes for the Eagles, with 74 yards and a TD throw. Will Granger recorded a 45-yard pick-six for a score. Austin Collert tallied two touchdowns, rushing for 19 yards on five carries.Grant Inbody passed for 51 yards for the Falcons. McCOMB 56 ARCADIA 0 ARCADIA – Gracin Romero had three touchdowns – two rushing, one receiving – ran for 110 yards, and helped McComb even its season record with a 56-0 shutout of visiting Arcadia. Romero had touchdown runs of 7 and 6 yards in the first half, then hauled in a 10-yard pass from Grady Schroeder in the third quarter. Schroeder had a big game, completing 16 of 23 passes for 165 yards. Three of those passes went for touchdowns. Schroeder also threw an interception. Aside from connecting with Romero, the McComb quarterback also found Luke Kern (42 yards) and Carter Frater (3 yards) for TDs. Schroeder also ran the ball nine times for 85 yards, which included a 10-yard touchdown jaunt in the second quarter. The Panthers (2-2, 1-1 BVC) also returned a pair of fumble recoveries for touchdowns. McComb will host Ada next week. Arcadia was limited to just 75 yards of total offense, and had four turnovers. Redskins quarterback Nick Moes completed 3 of 5 passes for 61 yards. He was intercepted once. Arcadia fell to 2-2, 1-1 in the BVC. It will travel to unbeaten Leipsic next week. COL. GROVE 48S-VILLE 0COLUMBUS GROVE– Columbus Grove notched its first win of the 2025 campaign, shutting out Spencerville 48-0.Quarterback Landon best passed for 260 yards for the Bulldogs, throwing four touchdowns. Brody McCluer had five carries for 75 yards and two scores, and 33 receiving yards and another TD. Gavin Barraza caught six passes for 104 yards and a TD. Trevon Baxter recorded 68 yards receiving and a score, while Gavin Baxter had 55 yards receiving and a touchdown.The Bulldogs, now sitting at 1-3, travel to Delphos Jefferson at 7 p.m. on Friday.
