Citizens invited to line procession route for police officer FINDLAY — The funeral service for former Findlay Police Officer John Schimmoeller will be held at Gateway Church today, and the city of Findlay has asked citizens to line the streets in recognition as the funeral procession goes by. The procession will take place beginning about noon, after the service concludes. The procession will follow the route below: • North on County Road 9 from Gateway Church• East on State Route 12/West Main Cross Street• South on South Main Street• West on West Lima Street• North on South Cory Street• West on West Main Cross Street, returning to Gateway Church The funeral and procession are reserved for family and members of local law enforcement, both active and retired. However, members of the public who wish to pay their respects are encouraged to safely line the procession route, a release from the city states. Traffic delays are expected along the route during the procession. Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes or allow additional travel time. Blanchard Street bridge under construction FINDLAY — Traffic patterns will be shifted on the bridge on South Blanchard Street between East Main Cross Street and Cross Avenue while the bridge is under construction, a release from the city of Findlay states. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained during construction. The city urges people to use caution in the area. Vanlue Hometown Heroes hosting BBQ VANLUE — The Vanlue Hometown Heroes will hold a chicken barbecue fundraiser on Saturday. The meal is by drive-thru only from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Vanlue Community Park shelter building. Dinner includes half a chicken prepared by the Vanlue Fire Department, baked potato, green beans, roll, cookies and water. Tickets are $12 each and available at the Vanlue Marathon, Wildcat Café or from any committee member. All funds will be used to continue development of the Veterans Parkway where 191 veteran's banners have now been raised. Free movie set in North Baltimore NORTH BALTIMORE — The North Baltimore Public Library's next View and Chew free movie, "Bride Hard," will be shown at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Virginia Theater, 119 N. Main St. The movie stars Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp and Justin Hartley. When a mercenary group takes a lavish wedding hostage, they have no idea what they are in for as the maid of honor is actually a secret agent. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase.
