Harris, Trojans topple Central Catholic in five

VOLLEYBALL FINDLAY – Davinee Harris was dominant in Thursday's match against Toledo Central Catholic in Findlay. Harris smashed 21 kills, 22 digs and served four aces as Findlay topped the Irish in five sets, 23-25, 25-11, 21-25, 25-20, 15-9. Maggie Crates lined 14 kills, registered 16 digs and served three aces for the Trojans, while Lauren Heydinger slammed 10 kills to go with four blocks. Anika Helms dished out 51 assists while recording 16 digs for Findlay. Delaney Harris had 31 digs and Stephanie Ragan added 13. The Trojans will host Napoleon on Tuesday. TENNIS LIMA -- Findlay's Kendall Beall knocked off Lima Shawnee's Rita Naroor – pushing her winning streak to seven – but the Trojans fell in Lima Thursday, 3-2. Beal defeated Naroor, 6-2, 6-2 at second singles. The Indians' Brailynn Murphy knocked off Abi Russell, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8. At third singles, Shawnee's Alivia Mack stopped Rosalynn Mayle, 6-3, 7-5. The Indians clinched the win when No. 1 doubles team Leah Fuller and Jia Panchal topped Audrey Schroder and Willow Wetzel, 6-3, 6-1. The Trojan's No. 2 doubles squad of Reese Hagedorn and Sanjana Indupuru upended Shawnee's Nora Mulder and Hadassah Smith, 6-4, 6-3. The Trojans dropped to 8-9. They will be back in action Tuesday at the NLL Tournament at Sylvania Northview. GIRLS GOLF FREMONT – Lainey Ricker shot a medal-winning 43 at Fremont Country Club, and Findlay had two other players score in the 40s in a 187-211 win over Fremont Ross. Josey Weihrauch fired a 46 for the Trojans, who improved to 6-2. Brynn Wells put up a 47, while Claire White registered a 51. Lydia Cleland (56) and Alaina Lenhart (62) also competed for Findlay. Brenah Parker's 45 led the Little Giants. Lauren Fry notched a 53 for Ross, while Olivia Anstead recorded a 54 and Ruby Smith a 59.
